posters and flyers

This is an example of a band poster advertising fuzz face gig, this poster design is achieved basically by black and white colors and a sketch image of the band them self backed up with some typography and phrases to go along with the main information , this is an affective way that i could use when creating my poster.
Another aspect i had to look at was flyer's they are practically the same thing except they tend to be smaller with less information than a poster this is an example of fuzz face's flyer's , their design is practically the same as their poster they carry on the black and white theme yet this time they also use photographs of them working with the text tracing the outline of a square black border. This black and white theme could be their trade mark and what their recognised for , i could use this with my poster when designing it i could use a color theme then transform it to black and white to play around with ideas and find the best look.

This poster shows a different aspect of design they use lots more color and there's lots more going on in this poster more information , more typography and the font they use is much more interesting , green day is a big well known band and has lots of sponsors so this all has to be incorporated into the design which gives it a more cluttered feel , however with their layout the have pulled it off and made it look good. Parts of this poster i really like is how the photograph has been edited to have a red glow and the fact they have used lots of different fonts it looks miss match but good.
This is also a good example of a poster , like the previous they use a lot more color and include lots more information such as their sponsors as this is essential They also add a glow behind the wings of their name which i like it gives a good effect and makes the poster more eye catching the wind is also like their logo it represents them. After looking at many posters i also noticed a trend all the posters included a  photograph of the band them self however i didn't like this idea i liked the idea of using a photograph which influenced their album and the music they would be playing at the gig.For my designs i also couldn't decide whether to design them in black and white like many bands do or to use color so i decided to do both and to keep it simple. I also liked the idea of only using text to create a typography based poster.

One of my tasks was to create my own poster advertising a gig or event.

like other bands their flyer's and posters don't have to include a photograph some time they can use simple backgrounds our just text better known as typography.

This is another poster i created on adobe illustrator for my graphic design course however it is relevant to this course as the poster is advertising a music festival.
